Thermoelectric Applications
The Project
"In 2005, Thermoelectric Applications Pty Ltd situated in Technology Park - Western Australia had a requirement for a specialised Peltier device testing facility, capable of maintaining very tight tolerances of both temperature and humidity (± 0.1°C and ± 2 % RH) over a broad range of temperature and humidity settings.
The initial investigations by the client proved unsuccessful as most of the designers approached said that it couldn’t be done, this was the inspiration for Cleanrooms WA to put a team together to provide this facility and it’s complex HVAC systems and controls."
Munter's Contribution
"Munters were engaged by Cleanrooms WA to provide a desiccant wheel dehumidifier as an integral part of the HVAC system controlling these very stringent space conditions.
Early commissioning revealed that the single dehumidification unit introduced moisture at the low room temperatures through the regeneration section of the dehumidification unit. This was resolved by using a second unit in a cascade arrangement , with the second machine supplying it’s dry air into the regeneration air path of the primary unit.
Success! the arrangement was able to maintain these conditions at the lower room RH% set point and kept removing moisture even at these lower temperatures.
Cleanrooms WA team were awarded the prestigious AIRAH “Excellence in HVAC” award in November 2005, we at Munters are proud to be a part of this project and congratulate the team for a well deserved industry recognition."
